You don't have to take them out just un-fold them 'a bit' to get the covers off and your hand in ... it helps to have little hands tho ... :)

Yup an absolute pain, from the scratches on the back on my hand, some time ago I had to change the off side stop tail bulb and being the right handed doesn't help as yes it wasn't a quick bulb change.
Being a glutton for punishment, last year I replaced the two reversing bulbs for LEDs didn't have much trouble this time, still 15 minutes a side perhaps it was because I know what is what now and those bulb holders are easer to get to.
Luckily the rest of the rear bulbs are the factory ones. :)

I had an intermittent fault with the brake lights a couple of year ago and was so ****ed off with having to take everything out I binned the seats and rear trim. Just bare metal back there now. Much easier to work on, also easier to see any rust. :)
