Boost pressure

Hi all I was wanting to know what a safe amount of boost pressure a 300tdi can take. Mine is boosting at about 1.2bar. Drives fine just nice to have a bit more power

I have left mine as standard. However, from reading about what others do here on LZ, it's your exhaust gas temperatures that are going to cause a problem first. It's best to fit an EGT gauge so that you know when you are getting close to dangerous, engine carping, temperatures.

Boost is a measure of resistance not flow. This means you can increase the boost, but beyond a certain point it will not flow any more air, just create more resistance and heat. Air without fuel will not produce power either.

There are lots of tuning guides for Tdi engines, best to follow the tried and proven process.
