Hello,

I have a p38 1998 and there is a picture of a book on the climate control screen. Everything seems to work.

Do i need to take the car to landrover main dealer to sort this or can i take the car to any auto electrician?

The book icon usually means that the air con/heater has developed a fault, a blend motor is the main culprit.

You can diagnose the problem buy reading the air con section in the 4.0/4.6 Common Symptoms & Causes, the link below.

Doesn't need a main stealer-someone with Autologic or Rovacom will be able to read and clear any faults (Providing they are not "Hard" faults). However as zzr has posted- check your system out initially with the info on the link provided to try and determine the possible fault area.

My little book was showing yesterday, and it was because the heater core temp sensor was broken, and had fallen off. It is strapped around one of the metal pipes leading into the matrix and has a blue plug on it. I replaced it and it the book symbol has gone now, without diagnostics or clearing faults.
