Bonnet release cable

quite an easy job, can either just pull out old inner and fit new one or replace the lot. just make sure you have somebody else test the pull on the cable whilst you make sure that the sliding plate on the lock is going over far enough to clear the pin on release - then try closing the bonnet!!

Did mine last week. I replaced the outer and inner cable because the outer bit was cracked where it bends sharply at the grille.

To do it properly you need to take the grille off to get at the cable clamp bolt. This requires taking the nearside indicator off and the trim under the headlamp.

Fairly easy job all told, especially if you only replace the inner cable.

well that was easy than I thought it were gonna be. disconnect it in footwell, cut the handle and the nut fitting off, pull the inner out, slide the new cable inside the orignal outer, tape the new and old outers together and use the old one to draw it thought the bulkhead and all the cable clamps, 1/2hr max!
