Hi folks,

as my foray into P38 ownership continues, I find myself in need of a replacement bolt and nut to mount the EAS drier.

unfortunately the old one was so rusted that the bolt sheared.

The nut seems to be a funky 5/8” (why are there Imperial fittings on a vehicle from the 90s ?).

Does anyone have any advice on where to best source a replacement ?

thanks again

Bob

It is a Land Rover. All sorts of bits are still Imperial!

Yea I know..... keep it clean though...
Nut and bolt were so rusted together when I tried to undo it it just rounded off the hole in the plastic bracket.

Yep, that’s pretty much what happened here too, had to pop
A pair of mole grips onto
The plastic housing as it had split.

it’s the bolt and nut which secure the EAS driver to the (I think) Air filter housing.

it’s the last bit I have to do to get the EAS properly ‘fixed’

-until something else on it goes !

if you show me or explain what ones you want il give you the ones off mine. Will have to wait til weekend see if i can dig them out.
That may indeed be very awesomely helpful -assuming your nuts ain’t as rusty as mine !
It’s the bolt and ‘captive’ square nut which secure the EAS Driver to the plastic filter housing.

I’ll pload a pic when I get home tonight.

jut don’t go to any trouble, I’ll have a poke around in Screwfix and any decent iron monger I can find !
