My Defender got scraped by another car today, causing damage to the rear tub capping. The capping has been torn, otherwise I could have tapped it back into shape.

With the exception of any spray painting, can anyone suggest how easy/difficult this repair would be, and costs/parts involved please...

Probably so ratty, but it will need respraying so I guess I might as well fit a new one. I assume its just a case of drilling the rivets out? Any galv end cappings about these days?

Mine had a couple of small bolts on them also but otherwise a simple job to drill out the rivets and disconnect the rear lights.

It's a bit more time/money but what about buying your replacement one, removing all of the existing ones and galving them all at once? Would help to spread the cost.
