Just finished doing all the springs/dampers on the 110. All went remarkably well apart from as I was
going over all I had done tightening up etc, one of the rear top damper mounts broke off in my hand ffs!!
It was tight already so I can't understand what made it give!

How big a job is it to replace the stub thing? It looks to be bolted through the chassis & the bolts look
a bit **** TBH!

Anyway, my 4 hours work over the weekend have seen the the listing vehicle now sit true, the only thing
is I had no option other than the to use the two NSF springs sent by Richard (bugger!) as the second one
was broken in two (hence the list) It seems level & drives A1 (well, after a bust spring it would!) I
cant be arsed putting another one on for the miles I do in it!

So, 3 front dampers & no steering damper & 2 NSF springs!! Richard, take a hundred lines!!

In all honesty Nige, I used to size the springs into pairs, either NS or OS,
didn't matter what you mixed as long as the NS wasn't longer than the OS, or
you got a list to stb'd (UK rhd!) with the driver in it. My own 110 has TDi
progressive's on the front, both OS if I remember rightly, but the longer of
the two went on the drivers side. Sits at std unladen ride-height, 110 has a
V8 and a winch (big heavy old Ramsey 8000 jobbie) and weighs 2.5 tons last
time it was weighed! (Motorsport Recovery gear!) Rears are 110 (non
self-levelled, again 2 OS springs) and 130 HCPU inner helper springs, stn
wagon anti-roll bar with 130 shocks all round and 31-10.5x15 tyres. It
corners!!

CVan you let me have the numbers off the boxes, and the paint codes
from the springs - all that stuff was sent direct from our supplier so
I need the right info before going in with guns balzing.......

hehehe - it's no big sweat matey, but both front springs had yellow paint on them. No numbers I'mafraid
as all boxes are in the bin!

It has made a massive difference to ride quality & handling. All 4 dampers were absolutley fecked & a
broken spring! It's like driving a car now, not the General Belgrano!!

How much is it fr the nearside rear upper damper mounting & new bolts??

hehehe - just had a look through another box for something else & there is a nice new steering damper,
sat looking all forlorn! They must have sent me 3 front dampers by mistake! They packed the steering
damper in a box with different types of stuff in it!

No matter, it would cost more to post it back than it's worth, also thetre is no box!!

Are they in a Blue and Yellow box? Only ask as I got a pair of rear dampers
for the Rangie, fitted one... the other turned out to be what is either a
front damper or steering damper. Got mine from Landranger on that occasion.
Still sat here.

Its too late to pop in the garage now or I'd take a look at the make. May
confirm a supplier fau pa.

The bracket is £18.82 inc VAT

The bolts holding it usually come free with no probelms - it might
be an idea just try crack them to check before buying mew.

'ere, just thought. steering problems on my 109 (lack of wheel turning to
one side) proved to be a too-short steering damper. is it possible that it
had the wrong one, off something else, or is that a known issue with 109s?
