Brexited. Living on an island.
So i got the new D1 back from Blackpool...and the fun begins.

When i brake..it stops (in a fashion). However if i'm in slow traffic after i've tapped the brake a couple of times there is nothing, the pedal is hard with normal give in it but it does not brake at all!!

I'm thinking either badly bled or the master is fubar?

Thoughts appreciated!

Did you try servo?

Either vac pump or a leak in the vac pipes, it's using what vac there is on the first application then not built up enough vac to assist further brake applications:)

Put your foot on the brake and start the engine, if the pump/servo is working then the pedal should go down a bit more with the same foot pressure...

Could very easily be a leaky vacuum connector/tube/split pipe...

Have fun ...

You should pump the pedal half a dozen times first to destroy the residual vacuum ;)

If vacuum then okay it could be the little one way valve end of pipe 90 deg elbow that slots into the servo that could be U/S or the grommet thing it goes thru ...

Check the wheel bearings .. in fact take the hubs off to check the inner races especially. When they go the disc can move, opens the pads slightly so although there's 'feel' to the pedal, they still need to close the pads before getting braking effect. It's very hard to find just by pushing/pulling the wheel, 'cos the outer race can still be properly tight and will hold it pretty much as normal!

Just a thought ..
