Gents,
As a newly obsessed 110 owner, I've gone potty seeking new bits to add, what a brilliant way to spend a weekend!!
Anyway, for any newbs like me, I'd like to just share some results that could save you some money.
First thing I did was blank the EGR=less smoke and a little smoother.
Next, Boost Pin=Amazing!!!! A new vehicle, pulls in every gear up hill and less gear changes meaning about 3mpg more, unless you get excited like I did and thrash it everywhere!
K&N Airfilter= Not sure, seems smoother, at least I have an air filter for life, nothing majorly noticeable but possibly a mile or two mpg.
Bearmach Snorkle= Nothing noticeable apart from it looks cool. Air Ram head allegedly pushes more air in.
De Cat pipe=Definitely smoother on gear changes.
Basically if you must do anything, thus far I'd recommend doing the cheapest things and they have given the best results, Boost Pin £50, EGR Kit £15, De Cat pipe £60 and roll with that.
I'm probably getting an Allisport intercooler and that will be it. A new turbo for the sake of a little less lag seems a waste of dosh.
Next step I may change suspension, heated Exmoor Trim seats, Momo steering wheel and giant stereo system!!!
If any old sweats can tell me the unknown benefits of a K&N Filter, please news me up.
 
A k&n is more free flowing, fine if you have a really old petrol mini or something on carbs with a restrictive intake setup but prob not worth doing on a diesel land rover with a turbo sucking hard.

Some say that due to it being more free flowing And being a less fine filter it can actually accelerate bore wear, me I stick to genuine ones and change them yearly.

A snorkel won't make a jot of difference to performance, a landrover can't go anywhere near fast enough for it to 'ram more air in', besides you have the aforementioned turbo sucking hard. However a properly sealed snorkel will stop you hydro locking and busting your engine if you drive it in a flood or something. Does looks cool aswell.
 
I think you need to be doing 140mph ish to get ram air to work effectively!
Gave up on k+ns year's ago.
Heated seat's and screen well worth doing especially with **** weather coming up.
 
Cheers Flat, I thought as much about the K&N, I got a little caught up in the sales blurb from Timber Trail. It's in now so I'll keep cleaning it etc.It does seem to make things smoother. Funny you mention about the properly sealed snorkle, it was an absolute **** to fit, I was covered in sealant and as I fitted it myself and managed to lose the original screws for the vent port and one of the fixing studs, there's no way I'll be wading that deep!! I've just bunged the 110 into my local Landy God for undersealing and he was laughing his cock off at my snokle fit attempt, he's erm, making it better, as I write this!!
 
It's worth fitting the side window demisters, they cost around £60 and take a minute to fit. They won't clear steamed up side windows (well, a small part is cleared) but once you've wiped them clear they will stop it steaming up again.
Removing the CAT on my TD5 seemed to make very little difference to performance, but it's now doing a couple of MPG more.

Did you just cover a section of the screen demister outlets and run the trunking round to the side windows? ( pics of yours would be handy)
Basically yes, If any0ne interested I will produce a drawing. It will only take a little time to make the parts and fit.

I've been told not to install any oiled filter in a turbo car, as over time the oil gets sucking into the turbo and it can wear out quicker.

I have no idea if this is true or not and if it is I've no idea how long over time is. I've seen a few videos on you tube saying the same but a few drops of oil every time you clean the filter can it do that much damage?
 
I haven't been this into anything for years. I had a Range Rover before but because they have it all and you daren't touch them for fear of voiding the warranty you tend to just drive them and that;s it. The whole "what can I bolt on my 110 this weekend" feeling is brilliant! I can't wait until it's finished and I'll post pics of the project. I've converted a 110 into a mobile coffee machine, it is really starting to look awesome and yes, coffee is my business, now I combine work and pleasure!

I've only had my 300 tdi Defender for 5 months and haven't really done a great deal to it apart from change all the fluids, and had it MOT'd this weekend.

Over the last few weeks it has really struggled to get up to temperature in the morning when it's below 10 degrees. Even after 13 miles it wouldn't get to the optimum mid point on the coolant temperature gauge, one morning it barely got over the white mark. Everyone at work says "yeah all old diesels are like that" or similar, so I had started looking into radiator muffs' on eBay, but was a bit reluctant seeing that the ones I liked the look of cost £60-80. Decided to opt for the cheaper option first and spent £5.95 on a Bearmach thermostat as some have suggested in other threads about struggling to get up to temperature.

End result, the coolant gauge now starts moving within 1.5 miles and is up to the mid point by 3 miles, and stays there abouts until I turn it off. The air emitted from the vents is also a lot warmer, almost too warm to hold your hand right next to it, double bonus!

That's not true and wont hurt any old fashioned engine ie tdi etc, but anything with an air flow meter is best avoided as the oil mist can effect the afm.
Just about any turbo charged diesel engine with a closed crankcase breather system will have oil to spare in the intercooler and it's pipework.
New std filter's so cheap it's just not worth the hassle with cleaning and reoiling.
