I need to tow a few trailers 250 miles from one location to another. Each trailer weighs 1.6 - 2 Tons. Last week I towed one home, and at the end of the run the oil warning light (pressure) came on. I pulled over & checked the obvious. No loose cables, oil level at low mark. I tipped in a litre of oil and made it home. I had blue wisps of smoke from the oil filler hole as I tipped the litre in.
The following day oil light came on again, for a minute or two, gone out and has so far been OK since. I'm going to service it this weekend (I do so every 6,000 iles ~ oil & oil filter , 12,000 miles the rest).
So any suggestions ? I need a bit more Ooomph so I'll do the EGR modification, but I was pondering the intercooler. Any ideas on the oil problem ?
