Hi guys i am Mark,I have owned my Freelander 1 2004 TD4 for the past 3 years now.
So far had to replace;

Turbo
high pressure fuel pump
Rear exhaust box
New ignition barrell
New drive shaft

My question is,Will a set of BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres fit my standard freelander without any modifications?
Currently i have 235/55/17 wheels on.
Thanks
Regards
Mark

I ran BFG all terrains as my summer tyres on a 2006 Td4 on standard Gaylander rims.
Did about 40,000 miles over 6 years, no problem and they still looked like they hadn't worn at all.
Fantastic tyres - they seem to die of old age and start cracking at 10-12 years old rather than wear out from mileage.
Can't remember what size they were, but I'm sure they were slightly bigger than standard - 245/60/17 maybe?

Is there a tyre with white writing on the side that will fit 17” rims with the exception of Bf Goodrichs ?
Looked at ;

Bridgestone Dueler
Cooper Discoverer STT
Bf Goodrich All Terrain
Maxxis Bighorn M/T

I Know most if not all of these are mud tyres but do any manufacturer start a size that will fit a Freelander without modification? I can find 265/65/17 but is this pushing it without a lift?

Not sure if I am misunderstanding your post.

But if your main requirement of the tyres is that they have white writing on the side, it is easy enough to buy tyre paint, and you can paint white, or many other colours, on the sidewalls of any tyres you like.

Amazon product

I know it sounds petty but the tyres with the white writing do look a little more stylish and if i paying £450+ for tyres then i would like ones that look as good as they perform.
I can only see mud tyres that start at a size that is too large for standard Freelander rims.

So why not buy the tyres you want, and that do fit your rims, and paint the letters on the sides white with the tyre paint?

That just seems like a cheapskate way of getting white lettered tyres .
Like getting a plain t shirt and drawing a tick on and writing the word Nike underneath

I totally understand that it’s just i am more of a stick man drawer
So have the feeling it would look rediculous like a child has drawn on the tyres if i tried to do it myself with a paint pen
Does anyone know of any mud tyres with white writing that would fit without any modifications to the car like a lift.Spacers are ok.Or are do all mud tyres simply start too large for the freelanders wheel arch space?
Thanks again guys.

You just paint the tops of the raised letters, it isn't like painting the Sistine chapel or anything.

Ok that might actually work lol.Is the tyre paint robust or do you keep having to do it like every week ?
Also has anyone ever heard of a set of Mickey Thompson classic iii alloys going on a freelander.
I know these are American wheels but they are sold here in the uk.

The paint lasts for years.

No idea about Mickey Thompson, tyre suppliers websites might inform.

Does anyone know how much a lift conversion would cost on the freelander?
Also what kind of wheel/Tyre sizes would this then allow to be fitted?
Thanks guys.
