Best oil to use?

Just bought a 97 disco tdi and want to do a service on it. Now she runs great and for a diesel she pumps out hardly any smoke so i was wondering what make of oil can be recomended as i want to use the best quality i can.

can i out magnatec GTX in ? the stuff that sticks to ya engine ?

Yeah i was thinkin of using magnatec coz thats what i used to put in me merc b4 i sold it and bought me disco

dont think you can go far wrong with the magnatec, been running it in mine now for the past 4 years and nothings gone bang yet

i use carlube brand. buy it from B/Q of all places. cheapest around here.

i use free stuff that i nick from work and its ok but every now and then you drop a thrust washer on yer crank

i tried that with that cheap ****ty diesel he buys when it knackered me pump but he was having none of it
