My best mate liam is worth a bob or two ,hes into caravaning this year ,hes got a 08 shogun 2.5 diesel and a newish 22 foot caravan ,he left manchester 8 am sunday morning and has been trying to tell me he was sat there with the kettle on at 2,30 pm sunday afternoon in st ives cornwall ? now iv never towed a caravan or ever been to cornwall but i cast doubt on getting there that fast ? he reckons its 360 mile from here to st ives and only stopped once to refuel etc ,so before i comment back to him im getting my info ready so anybody know if this is possible ,i myself doubt it but maybe im wrong ,dont know ,anybody help ? ady
 
Think its one of liams tales for pub again ,all my mates are builders of one sort or another ,all bull****ters the lot of them ! ady mates that is not builders !!
 
The M5 is notorious for jams out of Bristol, also the south end of it is liable to jams due to heavy traffic all the time plus i do believe Junc 25 onwards was rammed due to a bad accident ( again ).

Maybe he was lucky....

I wouldnt let it get to you.. after all he drives a shogun. Humour the poor bastid ffs. :D
 
I recon bollix, AVERAGING just over 55mph without towing a yogit pot would be pretty good going but to average that with a 22ft jelly mould hanging of the back fooking unlikley.
 
probably is talking bollix but comin home from the peaks on sunday i followed a car towing a caravan doing about 60-65mph up the m1 (came in quite useful sitting in its slipstream :D:D)
 
If you catch the traffic right that's perfectly feasible - it's a pretty good road, not too many inclines and most peeps seem to tow at 60/65 down the M5 and A30. I can get from south midlands to the end of the Lizard in 4 hours and half of that time is transversing Cornwall.
