So,

This is by no means the finished article but a quick summary how it was, is now and where i want it to be.

Started off like this in late 2012:

2 days after i bought it i found RUST

All detailed on this thread http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/project-big-blue-208729-8.html

Then after the paint job i found more RUST  which is all in the my current build thread http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/carry-project-big-blue-246752.html

Pics of how it looked a couple of weeks ago:

Currently half way through a front axle rebuild which i never thought i'd be doing! Will more than likely do the rear axle after as well.

The ultimate goal is for it to be used at pay and plays, RTVs and going greenlaning. But i also want it to be reliable enough for the odd trip away i.e Lakes, Scotland, Cornwall etc.

Cheers Ben

Looks well that mate, worth the effort in the end :)

Thanks mate.

Looks to be about as perfect as a D1 gets :)

Followed your other threads so know a lot of the history ;)

Good to see you saved him and didn't just scrap him

I had thought about letting the scrap man have it at one point, i cant stand things getting the better of me though haha.

That's a great looking Disco!

Cheers mate, couple more things to do on the exterior then the inside is getting my full attention

Looks really cool mate... How high has that been lifted?

I love this disco, looks properly ace bud. I've always been a fan of the mach 5 style wheel, suits the disco perfectly.

Thanks lads. The lift isn't anything major just a 2inch suspension and a 2inch body. The mach 5s have changed the look the most i reckon, best of both in my eyes really strong and look decent :)

Im tackling the 2" body lift over xmas.... Hopefully isnt going to be too much hassle! Ive got the lift spacers and long bolts but where did you get the boot floor spacers and extended body tie rods etc??

Quite an easy one to do mate, best off doing it with someone to help you and just take your time. Easily get it done over a weekend. i would start plus gassing all the nuts and bolts soon as you can though.

Boot floor spacers i haven't made yet, at the minute they aren't required because i don't have a lot of weight in the back. Will be looking at making something early next year, maybe use some of the many redundant body mount bushes i have kept and some good old tiger seal?

Body ties are proving to be a bitch at the minute, mine are undone but the pins are seized solid and obviously cant tighten them back up as it's now lifted. Another thing to be done next year, might require the angle grinder to cut them off, will probably have to fab something up either and bolt / weld it to the floor and fasten it back down with a new bolt.
