Is it possible to get just the belt tensioner pulley on its own (Dayco 89054), without having to buy the whole tensioner assembly? Seem to see plenty in the US but not UK. Cheers.

Island 4x4 have the full assy for £24 plus vat.

The pulley wheel alone is 6 Quid from RockAuto in the states but £22 the cheapest delivery!

Might try the bearing replacement if all else fails, should be able to press out at work.

I used to press them out in a vice for the 300 tdi they sell them on flebay about 3 quid.

I would imagine its the same bearing as the 15mm release bolt that goes through is the same :)

Right. Had a look at the tensioner pulley wheel, the Dayco wheel is fitted with a Koyo bearing 6203RR9D, which is not listed on websites such as simplybearings.co.uk, but they are other updated versions of the same thing which would do the job fine.

HOWEVER... all 6203 bearings have an outside diameter of 40mm (inside diameter 17mm, width 12mm). The hole in the Dayco pulley is 37mm both sides. This means that the pulley has been injection moulded around the bearing. It can't be pushed out and replaced. So I'll have to bite the bullet and order a new tensioner assembly. They are not expensive really, but I normally like to fix stuff rather than buy new!

Sounds like the Disco tensioner pulleys must be press fitted and locked in with a circlip? Obviously Land Rover thought that was beyond the scope of a Range Rover owners butler and made it so you had to buy new. :(:D

I wouldn't be beaten by the it, i'd stick the bugger in my lathe and relieve the plastic until it could be pressed out then stick a new one in with Locktite 640.

Now that's that I call determination :D

If my mate in station workshop had not just changed posts, I could have asked him to do just that! Yeah 640 would do it at 22N/mm^2 shear strength.
