Right I know that this subject has been gone over lots of times but £90 for 4 discs plus mintex pads seem ridicously cheap , anyone tried the Bearmach discs, was considering terrafirma discs but at that price you could just change them yearly and not care:D. Going to do the brakes and a couple of electrical niggles and full service while I'm at it, after her service this winter she deserves it.
Cheers

exactly ,there fine ,thats not to say that you wouldnt get a bad set from anywhere nothings a 100% but ive fitted a lot and had no complaints, mintex are good

I bought the £90 lot a couple of months ago. Came with Britpart discs which did not fit as the middle hole was too small and the stud holes were misaligned. Returned them, kept the Mintex pads and bought Bearmachs from local supplier. About £10 per set dearer and quality feel, fit and performance. When I returned the BP discs I was told, "Oh we've had a few of them back". Say no more!

4 x 4 mail order direct, although because I live in the N E Scotland I have had to pay 30 odd quid for delivery, you would think that we live in outer mongolia up here at times, anyway check out thier web site, I've ordered them anyway as its still a lot cheaper than the factors and its not Britpart.

Us Jocks always get a raw deal

Ha Ha you wont get me in on this, my dad is English, my mum Scottish and I am born and bred in Scotland, there is also a bit of Irish mixed in somewhere so I,m British and proud of it. (definatly not european) Just annoys me the extra firms charge for delivery's to here, anything north of Glasgow is apparently not part of the mainland !!!

What was, the wrong size holes? Don't know but I got that from two suppliers so probably not. The quality of metal was very lightweight too compared to the general feel of the Bearmachs.

Hi Davie
I have just spent the weekend fitting my new discs, etc, i bought all this kit from mail order 4X4, as they are not that far from me, i went and ordered and collected, i also managed a fairly hefty discount :D

I also changed the brake pipes, i had an advisory on my last Mot and if i had known they were this bad i would have changed them long long ago.

I also fitted new shocks all round, not super dooper ones, next up from standard fitment.

New steering rod, the one with the steering damper on and a new damper.

In for a penny, i added a set of Goodridge flexy hoses, new calipers to the front, EBC kevlar pads all round and the rears have a matching pair of drilled and grooved discs.

I also bought a set of polly bushes, tried to get the old axle stay bar bushes out but gave up, have to wait for another weekend.

I have not bedded the brakes in properly yet but they feel far better than standard setup.

If any one wants to collect, i have a good set of front and rear discs(standard) with pads that have done about 3k, two front brake calipers one has split boot and four used shocks :D
