Alright guys

slight fault... again!

occasionally when i try to start my vehicle obviously i insert the key but then when i turn it the power fails, either completely going dead or as if it is low on battery power.

i have manager to find the problem as immediately thought it would a problem with the batt, anyway if i push/pull the Negative connection it ever so slightly moves, then the vehicle starts perfect.

i know this isnt good but i dont know how to tighten it and dont want to be removing the connection totally if it will then cause me problems...?

any help or advice will be greatly appreciated

get a set of spanners and a hammer, loosen clip slightly and tap it down softly with the hammer then tighten the clip back up again. the battery post is tapered and the clip can work loose over time. you can drill the centre of the battery post and put a wire and screw in and connect this to chassis or to the + cable which ever the lead is. this will keep elec on while you tamper with it, like a safety lead but it will not be strong enough to carry current for starting. i have done this with my earth as it popped off once and took me 4 hours to get it going again!

thanks gav, i work with low voltages all day so know what you mean just didnt want to fly in to the job without checkin on here, these cars are so temperamental at the best of times!

thanks again
