Hi all,

Just a quick one I am doing some tinkering with an old caravan and could do with using a battery to test a couple of bits therefore I was tempted to take the battery out of the Disco rather than spending money on a new battery.

If the battery is removed will it cause problems with anything e.g. will I have to re-programme the alarm etc?

Thanks

NO.........just disable the alarm before u remove it and disonnect the (-) first .....after u reconnect the battery wait a few minutes before u ignite and u have just to set the clock and input the radio's security code(if u had one).

If your disco is a D1 and is fitted with a battery backed-up alarm sounder then follow this procedure: Turn the starter switch 'on' and then 'off' and then remove the key, disconnect the battery within 15 seconds. if the battery is not disconnected with in 15 seconds the sounder will sound.

But if the sounder battery has long passed it, like mine, u don't need to bother with the above.

If the siren sounds when reconnecting the battery disarm the alarm with the fob and turn the starter switch to position II.

With D1's you may have to re-synic the fob by pressing the lock button 4 times after reconnecting the battery, with D2's u don't need too.
