bought one a few weeks ago then discovered there is a version with a remote control so bought that instead along with a 112db piezo siren and the shock sensor that can be plugged in (about £4) the siren and shock sensor will work with the non remote model but its a PITA to arm and disarm via your phone every time... remote makes it a doddle. the shock sensor and siren aren't needed but every bit helps and 112db going off inside the dash that they cant quickly get to is unpleasant and the second external siren to alert everyone else.... neither is easily accessible

Cheers Steve

They seem to have gone back up in price! You will have to let us no how good they are, at £8 I would have had one anyway but a bit dubious to spending £25 if it don't work lol!

It only sends out data when you text it to ask for its location or if you have set up a geofence or battery voltage drops, does loads of other stuff but only what you tell it to.

Do they work well?
I'm always abit optimistic with this kind of stuff bug I think it will be a good investment for the defender!
Cheers Dan

Mine did initially, but every now and then would not send back its coordinates, in the end it ****ed me off so much I removed it, I even tried it on a fibreglass boat on the river, it still gave troubles ie intermittent return messages, then we moved the boat to tidal so totally open sky no trees etc and it was still ****, so I got rid.
I think the tk103 is meant to be better as its has proper aerials for the gsm and gps signal, Keep meaning to get one and give it a try
Sorry ignore all the above Ive just realised the one in the link is the tk103!

It might help track an amateur but I reckon any self respecting pro would immediately spot the not very covert GPS antenna (and no satnav display) and rip it out rendering any positioning software useless. Good idea in theory and the GPRS/cell dipole could be buried in the dash but I'd want to hardwire the GPS antenna to something that looked factory fitted on the roof with everything including cabling out of sight.

I bought one pre Christmas but have yet to fit - not laving the aerials visible is currently exercising my mind!
