Well the D2 sailed through its MOT with an advisory on the brake pipes that I will be replacing anyway.
The damn back door (tailgate) has though stopped working since getting back.
Had a couple of times in recent weeks when I had to open it from inside and afterwards it worked ok but this time its dead.
Checked all the feeds and all good so it must be the lock, which looks a b##ch to pull apart.
I suppose I'll have to get a replacement first and then have a go at stripping down to see if it can be repaired.

Yep door lock mechanism. Bout £40 from a breakers it's not too hard at all to change. Not compared to other doors.

Disco 1 you can repair them but on D2 it's a sealed unit I don't think anyone's bothered pulling it apart. I got a good used 1 and swapped it

Cheers, I've just ordered one on e-bay, as you say £40.
I'll have a look at the old one when I change it.
To be honest the door locks are a bit lazy all round, hope they too don't start failing

Pain in the arse, I had to lift the window frames to do my 2 rear passenger doors.

Maybe try new battery in fob if they're all being temperamental

Mine went bloody-minded (for a second time) six-months ago. Now I use Special Tool 6A - a small child: open one of the front doors and issue the instruction "crawl into the back and unlock the back door again would you?"

Works a charm. Not sure that Paddock has any left in stock though.
