aux input on p38 HK system (all said it wasnt poss)

after not wanting to rip out the HK system like people have said to do because it is not pos to have a audio input on the range rover p38 oem system i decided to do some research on it.

being me and knowing that there is a solution to every problem i didnt give up
success!!!
here is how it is done
there are 2 ways of doing this

1. setup so the aux connection is in the back of the car module inside the compartment where the sub and cd changer is, you could have the aux cable coming out from under the access panel and have a playlist on your ipod playing as it will be in the boot and mount a holder for your ipod on the silde panel BUY ME

2. setup so the aux connection is in the from of the car module inside the dash with the aux cable for mp3 player coming out into any location you would like i could say inside center console box thing and have your audio device inside there (ipod ect) BUY ME

only prob is that it will use the cable for your cd changer but you could always unplug the module and plug the cable back into the cd changer when wanted to play cds.

i would say that cds have had there time to shine and it is about time to update to digital radio or mp3 as this module can have ANY audio input that uses rca. :)

also if u want to use thisa module with an ipod or any kind of mp3 player u will need a cable that converts the white and red rca conection to a 3.5mm jack >>>

switching between the two may be possible with a simple dubbing switchbox, i bet maplins will do something that will suit the job

its a bit late now i'll see if i can find one in the catalogue tomorrow ..
 
Just a comment about CD's having had their day. MP3 is a compressed digital format and as such is a compromise on sound quality regardless what MP3 player you have. Technology is good at moving forward and the MP3 format is an OK sound source, however, it is nowhere near the quality of the original recorded material. I for one will continue to use CD until such time as they can produce studio quality recordings in an MP3 or similar format. Sadly, the upcoming generation will miss out on true sound quality that can still be found on older formats.........

yes u have a very good point jdennington im 100% behind you on that one :)
but mp3 can be encoded at a very high quality to the point that u cant tell the difference and what i was meaning to say is mp3 is alot better than only having 6cds at a time u can have 1000...... of mp3's so id personaly would go for that option

i would be very happy to wip a loom up for you i solder nealy every day, if you want it that is :) wouldnt be asking for any extra money just for the cost of the items. what you say mate
 
If it's a Clarion diversity radio it is easily possible. Just send the head unit to Clarion and have a jack fitted.
 
I got mine done when I had the head unit repaired by clarion. They fit a wire direct into the back of the unit.

I followed that guide, and I ####ed up my head unit. Clarion said it's DANGEROUS! They've had a few that people have done themselves and they caught fire! They have me a right bollocking! They are trying to get the guide removed from you tube. BE WARNED!

It's worked fine for me (and I imagine those that have actually followed it correctly) for ages now. I use it pretty much every day with no adverse affects.

I followed it. It worked. BUT I managed to damage one of the sound boards somehow. Sent it to Clarion and thats what they told me. Just saying.

Or are Clarion trying to protect an earner? Done properly it should not be a problem if those are the same out points Clarion use.
