Hi, appologies if this has been covered before, did do a search but no joy. I have an ongoing series 3 88" project. Currently running 2.25 diesel.
Unfortunately I lost the use of my legs a few years ago from an rta. Ive always been a landrover fan and am desperate to get my series 3 project driveable for myself. I have looked into having a clutch actuation system fitted to the standard engine/box, but unfortunately the cost is around £1600. Has anyone here done a rover V8 conversion with an auto box? Just wondering if its possible, and if so how much work is involved.
Couple of pics of project so far. '76 88" Station wagon. Genuine 54k from new, 2 owners. So far welded in new footwells, gearbox crossmembers and fuel tank outriggers. New springs and shocks. Brakes overhauled, all new steering joints. Hardtop removed and full soft top fitted. Beefed the stance up a bit with defender 110 wheels. Just about ready for MOT. Want to re paint in limestone when done, and re do the wheels brilliant white.
