Stupid new drama series (sic) The Outpost based on military red caps in Aden in the late sixties. As expected loads of series landys in fact a feast of series 2a military spec. Or were they? Something dubious about the rear as if they've been basertised from something else? They sort of look right. The rear tubs don't look right. If they are who supplied the vehicles? Nice to see landy chugging around in the desert.

Not seen the program but military crossmembers are different. They are not tapered. This is my '67 ex mil

I watched the programme. I too felt that there was something slightly odd about the Landies but couldn't put my finger on it. The bulkheads, dash and front looked correct but something did look slightly odd about the rear ends. It wasn't the cross member ( I think) as I know the mil ones are squared off. It might just have been because they didn't have tailgates in them. Performance also seemed a bit too perky for a Series.
