Is changing the autobox fluid the same as on the classic rangie in that you have to bend the frame? I know you have to remove the crossmember first.

Just wondering if I should leave it for a garage

'93 V8 with the usual ZF

Cheers

Dunno about it, I have a manual box, but here's the page from Rave, if it helps ... ;)

No, it absolutely does not require anything bending.

just wait till the oil cooler starts leaking, keep pouring it in the top as it squirts out the bottom and take a coupla weeks to get round to fixing it.. that's what I did and it worked a treat

I just remember reading that the chassis rails have to to be sort of spread apart slightly to let the crossmember out so you can get to the sump. Or something. Obviously not, cheers!

Yes that's a possibility. I've seen that in the LRO mag in their workshop section a few years ago. I forget what model of disco, may have been the 3.9, if it had be a diesel I would have passed over it. May have been a V8 D2 even. It's only a few milimetres just to get the crossmember to slide back in.

That's for the 3.9.. Most 3.5's don't have cats..... so a lot easer not having to remove the exhaust Y pipe.

Dunno ... looked like the only page in Rave (though I didn't look too hard) relating to ZF autobox ATF screen filter so I thought it would help ... ;)
