Are Front and rear diffs the same?

Hi All

Just wondering if I can replace knackered Rear diff with good front diff to get me out of trouble for a coupla weeks - anyone done this, are they the same?

Depends - the SWB rover diffs are the same front and back.

as long as they are the same ratio, and its not a sailsbury axle in the rear.
