as there's a lot of technical wizards here i was wondering what the difference is please between these two

seems that many serious off roaders convert there diffs in having the air lockers

is it because there more reliable

or is it just a different application but has the same outcome

apologise as always asking the daft questions , but u know me i always like to ask them , lol

thks guys

If your comparing the electronic diff in the D3 to air lockers, the difference is with air, the driver always has control of when to operate the lockers, whereas on the D3
The ecu operates the rear locking diff(if fitted, not all D3 have locking rear diff), dependant on which off road terrian setting you choose

thks

mines got the front and centre electronic diffs ,

must have misread the info

know the rear locking diff was an option but thought the front diff also locked

No nothing standard on front diff, although an ARB Air locker aftermarket is available for the front.
The standard centre diff is variable , ECU controlled bit like a limited slip, and the rear was an option ECU controlled like the centre, but very few paid the extra required and only available on new purchase, unless you can get hold of the parts second hand and fit and activate/program ECU accordingly
