If I need to replace the ARB droplinks anyway due to worn out bushes, is there any benefit to replacing the ARB itself at the same time or am I just well leaving the original on?

Try finding one.

I managed to get a new rear for £60 but cannot find a new front for under £100
 
There are as far as I can see only three ways a static anti-roll bar could be damaged:-
  • Distortion due to accident damage.
  • Metal fatigue due to twisting and flexing over time.
  • Wear due to faulty mounting bushes or connection points.
Accident damage will usually be indicated by the front of the vehicle being bashed in somehow, although the front ARB particularly can suffer damage when off-roading. Not a lot you can do about it then, but the ARB is probably the least of your troubles, you've probably smashed your front diff case to bits by then.
Metal fatigue can't be "seen" usually but because of the size and quality of the material used, the ARB is likely to last many years beyond he natural life if the rest of the vehicle.
Wear can cause spots of weakness either at the points where the ARB is connected to other parts of the suspension, such as the drop links or where the ARB is mounted to the vehicle chassis. Such damage would normally be detected during the annual inspection or by the sudden appearance of clunking or knocking from the suspension or slightly wayward cornering.
Overall, the ARB isn't one of those components which would be subject to regular wear failure.
