hi

yes and no , it wont work until its programmed to accept the correct signal from your alarm ecu

im pretty sure theres a link on here somewhere, just do a search and will find alot of info

or if u go to your land rover dealer they can program and brand new one for you, i think its around the £80 region ??????

but someone will come along and be more accurate than me

i wouldn't buy it as its second hand and don't know where its come from

hope that helps

As far as I know, you need to plug the car into the computer to get it to learn the new remote key serial number...
I can see the programming option on my Rovacom Lite software, so you might find Nanocom can also do it?

does anyone know where you can get new key fobs from other than Stealers

i have a hawkeye but need a new fob with barcode to code it

I'm considering and after market toad alarm instead. Might be worth the 300 quid.

hi

ur hippo has a thatcham alarm fitted which is approved by ur ins company
if u get a none approved alarm they may charge u more for ins if u disable the thatcham alarm , or u could upgrade it to a thatcham 1 and will get 2 key fobs with it

there are many companies around that can reprogram and supply a new fob alarm and would have thought u wouldn't spend more than £100 , do a search on the net and find a local company to you

£60 all in on this link + £24 refundable when the programmer is returned to them.
I've never used them myself so cannot recommend them but I think I've seen this link on here before somewhere ;)

Land Rover Freelander Key Fob

Edited...Just looked a bit more and they will recondition a worn/broken fob too ...no programming involved

There are no barcodes for Freelander remotes - only used on Discovery 2 and P38 Range Rover keys.

Therefore you should be ok programming used fobs to your car.

have a search for autokey squad they have the details of how to programme a key fob free of charge hope this helps
