Hi just bought a Defender 110 and looking to get some work on it, can anyone recommend a small garage around Leicester area. I know of Swinfield in Leicester and Fox at Husbands Bosworth. But looking for a smaller garage who specialise in defenders. Thansk

Hi Foxyred, thanks for the response.

Need quite a few small things doing.
3 doors that don't fit well
Play in steering
New steering wheel
New side steps fitting
Hand break adjustment
Bonnet release wire adjustment
Wiper doesn't go all the way down on the screen
Wax underbody
Seat rails - fit new or repaint etc
new bulbs for couple of instrument dials
Fit new seatbelt and stem

Welcome to the looneyzone,

Blimey,

If you are going to pay to have that lot done , then I can see it getting expensive.

Can you not do a lot of it yourself?

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome.

You are right about doing some of these things myself and some of the previous posts on this site give good instructions. I am away a fair bit so want these things done so I can enjoy driving my first landy.

It is going to cost a bit hence trying to avoid the likes of Swinfield.
Cheers

Have you not heard yet, fixing them is most of the fun.......................well that is what us nutters tell ourselves. If you take it bit by bit then as nothing is urgent on that list you could get it done over time. Plus it gets you to understand a bit more about your motor.

If you have to have someone else do it, If I was you I would put a shout out to find a local guy who could do everything on your list. As none of it requires a "landy" mechanic, as such.

Also suggest downloading a copy of the RAVE manual.

Cheers

Most of the 'jobs' are just par for the course of a normal defender, if you're taking it to a garage for those I hope you've got big pockets:eek:

Try Autofix Fleckney, 0116 240 3097 or 07950346386. They're not landy specialists but Phil, the owner, is an enthusiast (and occasionally a grumpy old git :D ) Good guys who won't bankrupt you with inflated labour rates.
