another non starting freelander!!!sometimes!!

I have a 51 reg freelander td4,bought it with a smoking engine,took it in got fuel system flushed out,filters replaced and a faulty injector replaced,ran great.Cable went in the rear window so we replaced it with another complete unit from another car,(only mention this as problem only started after we did this although may be unrelated). Now every now and then it will not start,it turns over but just will not fire up and start,can go out to it say three days in a row and it will not start, can go out then on 4th day and away it goes! just recently covered 800miles in it on holiday with no problem at all then two days after we returned it wouldnt start again.Hubby took it to landrover specialist who said it was the pump under the back seat,we had that replaced, it started when they checked it, it started when hubby went to collect it then following morning it wouldnt start again!!!!!! Rang garage, he said it will probably be the pump under the engine now!!! hubby seems to think could be something to do with the immobiliser, any ideas?

If it's turning over then it aint the immobiliser. The red led on the dash would remain on if it were.

It sounds like a knackered injector (although you say they've been checked), the engine bay fuel pump, or camshaft sensor.

Try giving it a quick squirt of easy start or carb cleaner and see if it starts then.

Could well be the other fuel pump. If one has given up the ghost, it is conceivable the other will too.
