I thought it may be a leaky injector but as it turned out I was sprayed with water!. Stripped it down today and the head is fecked. The car overheated a while back due to the bolt holding the steel heater feed pipe deciding it wanted to part company with the rest of the car. They do like to keep us in our toes.:(

yep, they are here to test us :(

Might be a little late for this head, but there is a recall for these old busses for an overheating issue (A255 so I'm told), be worth seeing if that could help prevent another failure... assuming you go down the path of repairing it.

Is it in the RAVE technical bulletins?

I honestly don't know. I got a phonecall from the local dealership telling me there is a recall for my bus. Still need to get it booked in.

Would like to know the details. Amazed a dealer is still checking recalls this far after the date. Is it genuine or some sort of Africa 419 scam?!

It was the Land Rover dealership near Swindon, Grange I think they are called. It seemed strange since they went out of production over 15 years ago.
