Right I've done the 'SEARCH FFS' before anyone asks and haven't found the answer I'm looking for. I'm considering fitting the SB175 to my defender (for jump starting etc) but what colour connector do most people use? Most advertised ones seem to be grey but Anderson list them as 36 Volt and also list yellow as being 12 Volt. I realise that colour doesn't actually affect the voltage or current rating but it does affect compatibility as each colour has different keyways to prevent cross voltage misconnections. Obviously I can choose any colour I want and make my own cables up to suit but if I want to make a plug-to-plug lead for direct connection (rather than croc clamps) then I should choose the most common colour for best probability of matching other vehicle. So what colour do you guys/gals use - grey, yellow, red or something else?

The SB175 connector can be bought in several colours but you can't plug say a red SB175 connector into a grey SB175 connector as the moldings will be different, so each plug need to match male to female in colour.

just thought i would say this incase you try it ;)

I would highly recommend the eBay seller race-bolts. He sells absolutely everything you need to make your own jump leads or whatever else you wanna use Anderson connectors for. The kit is actually Anderson branded and quality is top notch. He even sells jump leads ready made with them on if you can't be arsed doing it yourself, as well as all sizes of connectors

Yea that's why I thought to ask the masses, however so far the masses = two red and one grey!
