alloy wheel studs on steel wheels?

just bought some winter steelies for my disco 1 and i only have alloy wheel nuts. would it be dangerous to fit the steelies with the alloy wheel bolts. the steelies are off a defender if it makes a difference? thanks in advance. Tom

generally speaking. yes it is dangerous, but there are some excpetions. Do you have a piccy of yer nuts?

get some nuts off ebay, they are cheap for a set of 20, i bought some last week to fit my spacers and was only a tenner for 20 nuts

as the end of the nut is chamfered it can be used on steels wheels aswell as alloys although they will look strange on steels where they are sticking out mor than usual.

If you have locking wheel nuts you may find that they have a different shap to em so may not be suitable.

I am in agreement with jp. I got new ones for all 5 wheels for less than £20 delivered. Better safe than sorry

why would you need enough for 5 wheels? the spare carrier only needs 3 nuts.

OP theres sets of 20 steel wheel nuts on flea bay at the moment for under a tenner delivered
