Wife just phoned, and I'm coming there for help first

Says the Battery light, ABS, TC and Hill Decent light have all come on , while she was driving.

Then as speaking on phone, says car started to slow down/die out, and Handbrake light came on (or could be just a brake light)

So, how bad is it?

RAC Called so she'll get home, but if they cant diagnose the fault , what is it likely to be. I've read the three amigos light issue, so think i can trace that one, but why battery light and then Handbrake/Brake light as well.,

Or would fan belt broke, knackered alternator do that?
(please be fan belt/alternator)

I had an alternator go on a previous car (petrol) and as the battery drained to almost flat, all sorts of lights came on the dash everywhere, like engine management, abs etc. Something to do with the ecu's for the different parts not receiving the full 12v to run properly. Replaced alternator and re-charged battery and was fine for the remaining 8 years that I had it.

Hopefully it will be much the same for you....fingers crossed.

Sounds like the ancillary belt went and the battery ran out of Juice.

As above. It's lost electrical power, and some systems will show faults when that happens.

Probably best not to use the phone while driving to.

Similar issue in an X5. Pulled up at a roundabout everything flashing, radio on and off, nav lost then couldn't get the keys out of ignition. Turned out to be a damaged battery terminal.
