Anyone know why the alarm beeps inside my car after i have unlocked the doors, its only just started doing it.

mine does this aswell, it may be warning you that the system's back-up battery needs replacing but I'm only guessing.
If a problem doesn't affect the running of the vehicle I tend to ignore it.

I was tempted to say RTFM but don't want to break my new year resolution.....:)

change the battery in the remote key fob, then, when you have done thatm, take some time out to read the manual, which explains this and many other things too.

the bleeping is merely a warning, and the fob may go on for ages, as per howardo. It may not though. take your chances.

if you don't have a manual, please go to greenoval.com and download something called "Rave CD" which is free, and will have a complete user manual and workshop manual for you freelander.

good luck and welcome to the forum

my fob still has a good range and the alarm has beeped for along as i can remember, over a year for certain. In fact i think it has always beeped. It stops beeping after a few seconds or when i lock the doors.
I'm going to buy a new battery now and see if it stops beeping.

can also be caused by poor contact from the battery to the terminals in the fob, typically caused by either fluff from being in your pocket, or sweat, from being in your trouser pocket

changed the battery and cleaned the fob and it has stopped beeping now. its been doing it for so long now that it seems wrong now its stopped.

Moods - I had this "problem" recently. I just locked and unlocked the car with the interior locking button to make the beeping stop. In my case the car had spent a lot of time unused and the battery had been pulled out to recharge it recently. After running the car more regularly for a while, I no longer seem to get the problem. The only other thing I have done is enter the security code into the radio again. So perhaps it is just a case of 'running it out'. ???

P.S. OK - just forget this post (read Optimus Prime's solution). Will go to that website and download that Rave CD - nice tip.
