Ok, I seem to be having problems with the alarm.

Last night, randomly, despite being unlocked, the alarm of my disco kept going off. At first i didn't even know it was mine because the lights weren't flashing.

I disconnected, and reconnected the battery and took the car for a drive. However, half way down the road, the alam came on.

Can anyone help??

If any alarm has not been set but still activates their is a fault with the control unit.
Are u sure it's the alarm activating as u say the hazards were not flashing and not a short in the horn wiring/button.

Hi, i think discool is right...it doesn't have a spider from what i can gather

So you reckon it's most likely to do with the control unit?

Im assuming its the alarm sounding, since it sounds exactly the same

Pele, the single button system uses the vehicle horn as an alarm sounder (later models have an electronic sounder) so it will be hard to distinquish between an alarm condition and a short circuit in the horn without the hazards flashing as they should in an alarm.
Also if the car is still unlocked therefore the alarm is unset it should be ok.
So is a short circuit, loose connection or if it is the alarm a faulty alarm control unit, who knows. Check the under dash wiring, alarm ecu plug, and the horn button.
Dose the alarm and central locking operate normally as they should via the fob.
To test the alarm, lock with the fob but unlock with the key and the horn should sound.

To know if it is the alarm or not just watch the LED on the dash whilst the horns are yelling..........if it remains lit = the alarm has been triggered.....if it's normally flashing then it's what discool first said...somethin to do with the horn circuit.
