just picked up my defender 90 TD5 2001 from having its new chassis fitted, obviously they have had it in bits with battery off for a while, now when I set the alarm indicator lights flash but the horn sounds twice, bit hard on the locals who I suspect don't love the Landy as much as I do, anyone had this and know the fix?
It also died on me three times on the way home but I suspect that is fuel system related, did a purge cycle and then turned it over while blipping the throttle and eventually it picked up, just worried that there is a load of muck in the fuel tank and this has been stirred up an blocked the in tank pump. Odd thing when I was on the motorway it ran fine only acting up after I came off into smaller roads.

Don't know much about these, but alarm sounding on lock is usually a miss lock.

As Wammers said, horn going twice is a mislock. As you have just got it back I would check all the doors switches are working correctly, and the switch under the bonnet behind the master cylinders.

Thanks, seems to be the most likely, looked at the drivers door switch which is a bit old cleaned it and it works ok I.e. Interior light works when I open the door, need to go over all the other contacts one by one.

Found it, plugged in the Nanocom and you can see the status of all the alarm inputs, bonnet switch was low when the bonnet was closed, I bent the bracket a bit until it just shows high when shut then goes low when you pull the release in the cab.
Result no more double honks.
