Welcome to the forum.
How old is it?
Is the interior light coming on quickly when you open the door? Does your system have an internal sensor?

Don't think it has a internal sensor, the alarm only goes off for a second or two when I start it.
It's a 65 plate.

Is the full alarm system going off, i.e. back-up sounder, horns and indicators? If it is just the back-up sounder your car battery is probably low on volts and you need to check this first. If it goes off at cold start after standing for a while but does not do it after a short run, this indicates a battery issue. Check the battery volts after standing for several hours (overnight) and before starting. And check again after a run. A fully charged battery should show 12.7 volts, partly discharged at 12.5 volts and fully discharged at 12.2 volts. If you need to take the battery off for charging you MUST follow the battery disconnect procedure (in your owners handbook). Otherwise strange things will happen. The battery can get quite low and still start the engine but other electricals are compromised.
