alarm prob. Disco 1 1998 has disco 2 type key?

Recently acquired Disco 1, June 1998, v8 + lpg. Seller worked the door locking with key button but I can't, key works central locking with key but buttons do nothing, changed battery, engine starts Ok, but alarm indicator led keep flashing and the indicators flash for a about ten seconds every time I start up, car battery going down quickly. Tried to reset with EKA no luck, any suggestions appreciated. Don't need to fix alarm just stop led and flashers flashing.

Without knowing what the modification was to enable a disco 2 key to be used, and why the seller used the key okay and now u can’t... I suggest u speak to the seller.
It’s not unknown for the alarm sounder to be permanently isolated therefore won’t sound in an alarm condition but the indicators will still flash... therefore when the indicators flash the security system is in an alarm condition, normally pressing a D1 unlock button would unset the alarm and extinguish the red LED.
So request some info from the seller.

Can't believe that would run the batt down, if the batt is OK.
