Or fitted it the wrong way up. :D:D:D

:)

Well for anyone else considering a refurb, the compressor was done in about 45 mins including taking it out. It was very easy.

The valve block (had it gone right first time round) was about a 2 hour job. Not hard at all, but lots and lots of o-rings to replace. I did one at a time and took a picture of the first one in all stages of dismantling so I could reference it if I got stuck. By the time I was on the 3rd, I could do it blind folded and it wouldn't bother me to do it again if I ever had to.

Because I had a dodgy diaphragm, it took all afternoon and it was in and out 4 times in total but fingers crossed it'll not need looking at for a few years now....

tnx all for your help

I did have it the right way around but the new one was much harder. No give in it when you pressed it. So I guess it was knackered from new or made wrong or something. Which is a shame as every other seal and o-ring is now brand new!!

Solid rubber Dutch one no doubt. When air tank is empty the spring supplies pressure to close diaphragm until sufficient air pressure builds to close exhaust. If the diaphragm is to stiff for spring to deflect it, port stays open and air from compressor goes out past it.

Just as a follow up to this thread and my EAS Calibration thread http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f10/eas-calibration-question-223022.html

Swapping pipes 3 and 4 back to the way they should be AND swapping the height values for Front Left and Front Right seems to have cured all. The car no longer drops as I'm driving it! I assume the EAS computer was slightly confused eg asking for FL to go down a but but actually FR went down and then having to compensate all the time. Same with its self levelling over night. It now also makes the target heights as shown on the Nanocom instead of never ever getting there.

So I probably didn't need to refurb the valve block or change the bags but at least they should last a while. Of course if I hadn't done the valve block, I wouldn't have noticed 3 and 4 were the wrong way around.

Sometimes it's the simple things :)

And of course, thanks once again for all your advice and suggestions. This really is the best place for info...
