hi all.
So yesterday I got my air con topped up, brilliant...lovely cold air!! Until this morning.
Absolutely no difference between on and off. Spoke to the guy who topped it up for me and he said that the low pressure valve core was a bit seized, took it out and worked it free again. Didn't flag a leak issue on the machine so I assumed all would be good. He suggested gettin a new valve core... what a task! Few local parts suppliers have said it's a main agent part. So rang local Landy stealers and can't get just the core, has to be the whole low pressure hard pipe... £185 including the dreaded. Wtf!

Any idea where I can get one from? Anyone breaking a d2 that has one for sale?

Cheers,
Matt

Just confirm that when it's not blowing cold air the compressor is on...cos the thermostatic expansion valve should not stop it working but if it's not it might be other issue.... though do you mean that the man who tried to fix it could reach that valve without limbing the dash?

strangely that valve is very expensive in UK(not 185 though): http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/92902/2561/valve_expansion_air_con_dis_dis11_rrc , while here is it's real price (this is the same like STC 3140) you can see the part numbers here http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-AC-A-C-...ce-/330872699458?_trksid=p2349526.m2548.l4275 they dont list the Td5 cos there isn't any in the US A but the A/C evaporators are the same, if you google out " EX 10128C" you'll find it with $13 on amazon

That one IMO would not affect the flow through the pipe at all eventually it will be a gas leak there if it's stuck cos it's just a charging connection

Then clog it somehow as to be reversible... a threaded cap to fit made on a lathe with a rubber seal in it would do the job IMO

Iirc its only a schrader valve core inside the charging ports?
Literally pence, was regassing workmates honda and we had the sticky valve so we just vacced it again and replaced it with a spare schrader valve insert from our toolboxes wasnt a special a/c just a std part.

For the money they could be worth a shot. Get the condenser done first though I think as that is covered in tracer fluid so has definitely gone kaput!!
