Good day again...
Here we go again,i have noticed since yesterday that i have alot of vibration inside rangy when the EAS compresor is engaged,thought about checking the compressor mounts out.
when i opened the EAS box i heard the compressor making a lound noise,and it is like wanting to seize up while running....i removed its air filter and put my finger,i felt suction but not straight ahead,after covering the intake hole 4 a couple of seconds i feel my finger getting sucked :D,i have no pro in the eas what so ever,it takes arround 10 min 4 the air tank to fill from empty and car rises fast,the compressor mounts are good,no play in them,when the compressor engages the sound is normal than it starts to transform and gets loud....
please please please don't tell me that it is a warning sign for replacement :doh: :frusty:

Maybe the back bearing cage has come adrift this can cause this sort of problem.

hello amigo
what is a back bearing cage?

Back of compressor where brushes sit there is a rear oilite bearing. It is held in place by a spring clip retainer. Sometimes that retainer can come loose and cause the rear end of the armature to wobble about. It's a long shot and a pig to repair.

cheers wammers;
so the compressor must be replaced?,and if a replacement is due,can my compressor last a couple of months more,until i am better on money side?
thanks alot my friend

It may not be that it is pretty rare. Make sure R/H end of compressor is not hitting the rear mount bracket as it comes under load as the pressure builds. Also remove compressor and look at steady fixed to driver pack at L/H side undo the two allen bolts slightly and push this down into hard contact with base of box whilst pushing valve block inboard. If that is not set correctly it can cause box to rattle and amplify the sound like a drum.

Cheers.ok i found out that the right hand front bolt that goes into the plastic box (looking from bumper to engine) is going up and down with the rubber mount and the nut on top.and i think it is making the compressor dance,how much i try 2 tighten it it keeps on turning inside the plastic without catching it,so from one front side the pump is shaking and when i press this side down no more drum noise.advise me please.

You will have to remove pump and find some way of achoring the bolt into the plastic, it has obviously been over tightened at some stage and pulled out. You could try running some superglue into it. If the hole is too big for super glue you can try Araldite. But make sure it is full cured before you try to tighten bolt up. These bolt should have a nyloc nut on them and only be nipped up gently. This mounting seems to be the one that always fails it must be the one with most stress on it as the pump runs.

Ok i fixed the bolt in the plastic,put the pump on and i have bearly tightened the nut on top of the rubber bushing,but it seems there is a gap between the small nut and rubber bushing even if the nut is fully tight,and if u hold the pump w ur hand it will move up and down 4 almost 2 mm,the bushing must be replaced or i can put a washer on top nf rubber 2 minimize the play?

There are supposed to be two dished washers at each attachment point. Fit them with the dished part facing up on bottom and down on top. Then nip nuts up. The centre shaft of the mounting rubbers should be held firm between the two washers.

ok wammers 2 dished washers missing,replaced w normal washers,compressor is tight now,no more gap or play,but i still hear loud vibrations in the cabin,i will replace the rubber mounts,i found them very compressed,it is like the steel axle inside of them is missing :eek: i will buy new mounts and new dished washers and install them.wht confuses me that they were like that since 3 months ago and i couldn't feel vibrations or loud humming inside car,then suddenly it happened,i am affraid that ur first diagnostic about the back bearing cage thing is present...if it is the case,will the compressor seize although it is operating and pumping normaly?will it give me a couple of months?

Cannot say it could go tomorrow or it could last months. Sorry my crystal ball is in for a service.:):):)
