hello gents;
thanks to the diagnosis of wammers,the back bearing cage of the EAS compressor is knackered,plus that the mechanic said that it can't be repaired and a replacement is due soon (yeah right) i know it can be repaired definitly coz the price of a new one is 350$ and a second hand is 200$,SO is there any link available on diy procedures to repair it?is it worth to repair the back bearing cage (whatever that is) it is only a matter of fixing the bearing inside or more parts will be required?or should i go with a new or used part?
PS: the compressor is pumping air normaly only that it rattles and shake all over the place even with new mounts :doh:

Take a look at www.rangerover.net think there is a repair procedure outlined somewhere on there.

cheers wammers;
today i went to a nice specialist,who at least listen before charging money and giving dead end answers !!!
my air pump seized today and wouldn't work untill i hit on it with the back of the screwdriver,the fooker didn't even give me one week of warning....
so this nice guy removed it and opened it,the inside was so fooked,the seal (round yellow rubber)was torn,the back of it there is two square metal things arround the center bearing they were melted and only less than half of them remaining :eek: and the big shaft with copper wires arround was full of black powder and the head of the shaft ,arround it, the metal, half of it melted :eek: fooker, so i replaced the entire pump with a second hand one,he showed me the used pump and inside it was good as new,no melting no powder,two metal square full in size arround the bearing,i hope it will last a couple of years.they wanted 350$ for a new pump (it is aluminum from the outside) he said it had some kind of cooler....:blabla:
DAmn it,when the replaced one started to shake all over,it died in just less than a week....
thanks wammers cheers.
