.....came on (and stayed on) on my 2004 L322 a few weeks ago - It's been into the stealer who said there was a voltage issue.

I got the usual "we don't know what it is but you are more than welcome to spend about £2000 finding out" obviously, not going to happen.

Anybody got an ideas?

They mentioned ECU or a connector.

Where's the best place to start?

happened on my p38 when battery was almost flat and trying to start it .got it reset and been good since, probably just the same thing with low voltage from battery

.........as above, make sure the battery is good and check the alternator is putting out 14.4 Volts. Next to check are the connectors but as there are several airbags in the car where do you start? Most likely to be the one in the steering wheel as it is subject to the most movement. Look to the positive about the main dealer, if they've let slip its a voltage issue then you can be 99% it's the battery going. 6 years old if its the original and this winter will see it off.

It's a new battery, well about a year old.

Although the car does stand for weeks on occasions - it could be low battery I suppose.

However, they did check the battery and do a hard reset but fault is still present.

I'll check the voltage first. Would have hoped they would have done that though.
