Hi
This is my first post but have been very grateful to Landyzone for loads of help on the car reading other peoples how to's etc..
Wondering if someone can point me on what to do next !!
Have a air in fuel problem
Changed injector harness and clean out red plug regularly ( now no oil at plug )
this fixed the problem for some time. But its back lol
Now and have replaced the filter housing for new one with air bleed valve and none return valve in the same positions as original one taken off see pic.
Question is the red non return valve in correct position as all diagrams i can find show rear near chassis?
also after priming air has gone from system its only when i run the car it returns when i start up again:(
Any help gratefully received
cheers
Dom

I know these are for a TD5 defender, but as far as I know they are the same. ( I may be wrong....)

Because it does look like your non return valve for what good a replacement does is in a different place.

Cheers

Cheers Neilly will look at all these vids
going to have a good look around fuel pump and pipes along chassis tomorrow , then new injector washers and o rings
never done this before but found some how to on the web, just need fan spanner and torque wrench
Do you know if its possible to replace fuel pipes without dropping tank ?
Cheers
Dom

Thanks sierrafery
I have read that this common fault after 100,000 miles as with injector harness . thinking now to do injectors first then tank out to check pipes after if not resolved
cant see any fuel leaks anywhere (unless its very small hole somewhere ).
Car only seems to get air in when driven holds pressure in fuel lines sitting on drive ,so suppose combusted gases make sense
Suppose will have to brave it and have a go with injectors:p
Cheers all

Hi Sierrafery
Thanks for reply iam using this as a step by step which is very helpful
I havent yet replaced the seals or removed rocker shaft and was looking at how its set now and looks as if no1 is not at highest point when i line up timing mark
When i replace and go to setting each injector should i just make sure they are at highest point
thanks again
Dom

When you adjust injectors unscrew few tuns the adjuster and when the side of the rocker which is on the injector's plunger is at the lowest point screw in the adjuster untill you feel that the plunger reached the bottom then unscrew 1 full turn and tighten the locknut... that's all i know i dont know anything about why nr 1 is not at highest point, maybe the adjuster is too tight and the injector side can't go down more though this could haave ruined the injector.... i'm not the man to answer about mechanics

Hi All
injector seals replaced now and have started her up seems fine, only driven around the block will have a good run out tomorrow
looking at the pic of the seals they needed doing so fingers cross .:)
Big thank you to everyone on here
