Hi All,
2003 Freelander TD4 Serengeti Auto.
I replaced my EGR with a Blanking Kit, but what I didn"t do was to thoroughly clean out the Inlet Manifold.
Can someone please give me a simplified Step by Step instruction on how to remove the Inlet Manifold. How many Bolts to undo and where they are, and importantly any New Gaskets etc I will need on replacing it after I have cleaned it.
Any help and advice really welcomed.
Cheers

Here you go a link below which is the M47 on a R40 but basically the same, all that is different is the air intake, before cleaning the manifold always remember to remove the MAP sensor attaché to the side of the manifold, this can be cleaned with carb cleaner, the MAP sensor that is.

Manifold clean with oven cleaner and have it jet washed out completely, EGR either use a bypass one, or cleaning it out using an old hacksaw blade scrape the gunk out then clean it with carb cleaner and old rags good luck Arctic2

A big big thanks to Artic 2 for the very detailed info I require comcerning removal and cleaning of the Inlet Manifold.
Thanks mate. Very helpful

Some gunk, a pipe cleaning brush and the jet wash got mine nice and spotless last year.

As others have said make sure you remove the sensor, and also make sure it is all fully dried out before refitting.

You will be surprised how much gunge is in there when you take it off.
