Hi guys, wasn't sure where to post this as it's my first post so thought I'd try it here!
I am looking for a new Land Rover for myself. I broke my wrist riding my Triumph at the beginning of July, bike is a write off, and am now looking to buy. Have recently moved back to Wales from Cornwall as well, and wrist will take some time to fully heal, so another motorbike is currently just not an option. I start work again at the end of this month/beginning of September (I work in education), and the missus drives a Freelander. I am looking at getting either a Freelander or Discovery (preferably a Discovery 2, 4 litre, V8). I will be using it for commuting and doing green laning/offroading (not too worried about fuel economy). I have no more than £1500 to spend, so pretty limited I know, but was hoping some of you more experienced guys could give me some advice on which way to go. I recently saw this post:
https://www.gumtree.com/p/land-rover/2003-freelander-td4-£1100-no-offers-at-all-/1262605127
And am very tempted as the Discovery I saw today has been sold (gutted!):

So, which way would you go? Strike whilst the iron is hot on the Freelander, or hold out for a Discovery? I am aware of the rather mixed views on the Freelander, but I must admit, I do like driving it, and what green laning I have done, it has been great.
Any advice is welcomed.
Thanks!!!!!
