Just a post to warn people that Admiral grp (and child companies -Elephant etc.) are eagerly conducting fraud audits to check any and all driver and vehicle details.
Necessary to provide the following docs:
Main driver license (both parts, all sides)
Named driver license(s) (both parts, all sides)
Vehicle V5c log book document (all pages)
Proof of address (council tax bill etc.)
They found a "discrepancy" in my Defender 110 300tdi V5c and this has increased my policy by £510, which is more than doubles the original quote. The date of ownership on my V5c is quoted as the date I registered the car at my new address, not when I bought it. The surplus money now puts the annual cost to close to £1000. In searching the web there are similar cases of colours not being the same i.e. a gold car being described as beige in the V5c, or green/blue mismatch.
It is worth noting that the V5c is NOT proof of ownership and cannot be used in such a fashion. I am currently fighting my case and will soon involve the regulators, but funnily enough I have been with Admiral group for the past 3 years with the 110, so why they are kicking up a stink, I don't know. They stand to lose an honest customer.
