Ace Pump's n tings!

Hi all.

Have a d2 98 v8 with ace and am wondering hoe the pump should feel when the drive belt is removed. The power steering pump feels fine, but the ace pump feels lumpy. It has had a small leak so i think it might have been run low on fluid by the previous owner.

I dunno how it feels free but if your ACE worked fine without warning on the dash before then is no prob with it......just make sure the previous owner didnt disconnect the warning lamp...cos if he did then the pump might be out of order.

The light comes on when the ignition comes on at start-up and then goes out as it should, there were no faults or probs when we plugged in Faultmate......it is just the most likely candidate for the whine that is coming from the car when running....no belt , no noise and the only oddness i can find is the ACE pump but can't spin it fast enough by hand to see if it is that which is making the noise.
