Yeh that's what me mate just said so see if i can get one 2mrw and agree with your quote at the bottem up to a 300 i had a td5 and it was crap didn't like it at all and was nervous about the extra's going wrong which i think they were like air suspension, gearbox and over heating so sold that and got a 300 tdi great motor's.

You might not even need a new cable. A few weeks after buying my 300 one day without warning the accel pedal became 'sticky' and although it pushed down fine, I had to hook my toes underneath to bring it back up.
Mate of mine had a look at it for me, disconected the cable at the engine side and gunned a load of wd40 down it. 5 mins later and it was better than new. Havent had a problem with it since.

wd40 is the worse thing you can use to oil things, it strips any existing lube from the cable and it will end up worse. get some 3 in 1 poured down the cable and it will lube it proper

Make sure the engine isn't trying to earth through it .
